As an artist, my inspiration often stems from the world around me and its intrinsic properties. My latest work, "H2O," is a profound exploration of the different states of matter, taking a unique form and finish that truly captures the essence of water in its solid, liquid, and gaseous phases.

Drawing inspiration from the renowned Korean artist Yi Chul Hee, I sought to create a piece that not only embodies the physical characteristics of water but also evokes an emotional response from the viewer. When observed from the profile, the artwork presents itself as solid, a testament to the reliability and strength of ice. However, as one moves to view it from the front and back, its translucency reveals the delicate and elusive nature of liquid water, while the circular forms reminiscent of bubbles bring forth the ephemeral quality of gas.

The central form of the artwork is that of a drop of liquid, a symbol of purity and fluidity. The finish of the piece is intentionally designed to look wet, further emphasizing the theme of water and its ever-changing states. This wet finish adds a tactile dimension to the artwork, inviting viewers to imagine the sensation of touching or being touched by a drop of water.

In "H2O," I aim to create a dialogue between the viewer and the artwork, encouraging a deeper appreciation of the fundamental elements of nature.
